'Mr. Ripley' to screen at festival
PRAGUE — Jude Law is to receive the president’s prize from the Karlovy Vary Film Festival, held in the Czech spa town July 2-10.
Law is the first major Western thesp announced for this year’s guest list so far.
Last year, John Malkovich and Antonio Banderas lent some star quality to the otherwise arty fest, while scribe Paul Schrader tubthumped for the unconventional Holocaust pic “Adam Resurrected.”
“The Talented Mr. Ripley,” for which Law was Oscar nommed, will screen at the festival.
