The Israel Film Festival will fete Relativity Media chief Ryan Kavanaugh with its film achievement honor at the fest’s awards dinner on Oct. 20.
The 25th annual ceremony in Beverly Hills will kick off the IFF, which is skedded to present more than 40 films in Los Angeles from Oct. 2 through Nov. 4.
Kavanaugh recently spearheaded Relativity’s expansion into distribution with its acquisition of Overture Films’ assets from Liberty Media. As a producer, his credits include “Brothers,” “Dear John” and “3:10 to Yuma.”
Past IFF Achievement in Film Award recipients include Edward Zwick, Paul Schrader, Carl Reiner, Rob Reiner and Sacha Baron Cohen.
The IFF is the largest showcase of Israeli films in the U.S.
