Richard Bridgwood is stepping down as managing director of E1 Entertainment U.K. on July 2.
Current finance and operations director Charles Ogilvie will take up the role of chief operating officer. Working with Alex Hamilton and Jon Bourdillon, he will oversee the theatrical and home entertainment divisions, the international home video initiative and the U.K. Kids business.
Bridgwood’s departure comes three years after Canada’s Entertainment One, E1’s parent company, acquired Contender Entertainment Group, the company Bridgwood founded in 1995.
Patrice Theroux, prexy of filmed entertainment at E1, said that Bridgwood was “instrumental in establishing E1 as a leading independent film distributor.”
E1 U.K. has an exclusive output deal with Summit Entertainment.
