Andrew Lau's kung-fu pic lands at Venice
ROME — The Venice Film Festival has announced that Hong Kong helmer Andrew Lau’s martial arts actioner “Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zen” will world preem on the Lido.
Lau’s kung-fu pic, which will bring back to the screen martial arts hero Chen Zhen, played by Bruce Lee in the 1972 cult classic “Fist of Fury,” will unspool out-of-competish on the Lido on Sept. 1, marking the anniversary of the late Lee’s 70th birthday.
“Legend of the Fist” is produced and distributed internationally by China’s Media Asia.
The 67th edition of Venice will run Sept. 1-11.
