BERLIN — Swiss distrib Ascot Elite Ent. has nabbed a slew of titles in the run-up to the Cannes Film Festival, including Summit’s competition screener “Fair Game,” starring Sean Penn and Naomi Watts.
From Lionsgate, Elite picked up Neil Burger’s “The Dark Fields,” starring Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro, and Steven Soderbergh’s black-ops actioner “Knockout,” with Gina Carano, Michael Fassbender and Channing Tatum.
Additional acquisitions included the untitled Terrence Malick project starring Christian Bale and Javier Bardem from FilmNation; Hanway’s British comedy “Made in Dagenham,” with Sally Hawkins and Bob Hoskins; and Fortissimo’s “The Promised Land,” Michael Winterbottom’s story of Palestine during World War II, starring Colin Firth and Jim Sturges.
Also on the distrib’s slate is Wes Craven’s “Scream 4” from The Weinstein Co.
Ascot Elite’s upcoming summer releases include “The Twilight Saga:
Eclipse,” “Letters to Juliet,” “Piranha 3D” and Malick’s “The Tree of Life.”
