PictureBox takes Disney pix to Poland

VOD service also operates in U.K., Singapore

LONDON — Universal Pictures’ subscription on-demand movie service, PictureBox, has acquired the VoD rights to more than 30 Disney titles in Poland.

Pics included in the agreement are the “Pirates of the Caribbean” trilogy, “The Incredibles,” “Armageddon,” “National Treasure,” “Face/Off” and “Pretty Woman.”

PictureBox operates on platforms in the U.K. and Singapore, with plans to extend its tentacles globally.

The service is already available in Blighty on Top-Up TV, BT Vision, Talk Talk and Virgin Media platforms.

PictureBox most recently inked a deal with Icon Film Distribution for the rights to more than 30 of its pics.
