Edinburgh books Hornby, Cave

Novelist, composer added to fest

Events featuring novelist-screenwriter Nick Hornby (“An Education”) and musician-author-screenwriter Nick Cave (“The Proposition”) have been added to the 64th Edinburgh Film Festival lineup.

Hornby, whose tome “A Long Way Down” is being adapted for the bigscreen by Jack Thorne and “An Education” producers Finola Dwyer and Amanda Posey, will be the subject of the fest’s In Person interview on Thursday, the day after the fest kicks off.

Veteran Oz alternative musician Cave will read from his “The Death of Bunny Munro” at the fest’s Irregular event on June 24.

Lucy Walker’s political docu “Countdown to Zero,” which looks at the escalating global nuclear arms race, will have its Blighty premiere on Friday.

Fest closes June 27.
