Cable channel aimed at Mexico, Latin America

MEXICO CITY — Spanish-language web Telemundo and Mexican mega-conglom Televisa get even cozier with the launch of a joint-venture cable channel aimed at Mexico and Latin America.

Featuring Telemundo content and distributed by Televisa’s feevees across the region, the channel is set to bow on two cable systems this summer.

The new channel is an extension of the agreement struck last March between the two nets aimed at distribution of Telemundo content via Televisa outlets.

Shortly thereafter, Telemundo began running content on Televisa’s open-air channel Canal 9, and last September, the two webs worked the pact in the reverse, allowing Televisa to air Mexican soccer matches Stateside.
