Those who like their macchiatos with a dash of Olbermann and Maddow will be pleased to learn that newscabler MSNBC will be beaming its coverage of Barack Obama’s inauguration on Tuesday directly into select Starbucks stores.
The news feed, running from 10a.m. to 2p.m., was arranged via NBC Everywhere, the out-of-home arm of the Peacock’s Local Media Division. It’s part of a synergistic whole for Starbucks, which is advertising its “I’m In!” national-service initiative on multiple NBCU platforms.
The promotion will take place in 650 cafes in New York, Seattle, and San Francisco. (Insert liberal-elite joke here.)
MSNBC will also be going big-screen with the Obama festivities, airing its coverage in 27 movie theaters in 21 states from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free, but attendees must register at www.MSNBCEvents.com.
