Murdoch subsidiary pacts with Talpa

LONDON — Shine France, the newly created French arm of Elisabeth Murdoch’s Shine Group, has launched a 50/50 joint venture with “Big Brother” creator John de Mol’s company, Talpa.

The outfit, headed by Shine France CEO Theirry Lachkar, will focus on France and French-speaking Belgium.

It will have the exclusive right to sell, adapt and produce all Talpa formats in reality, game show and scripted genres.

Among the shows covered by the new arrangement are “Dating in the Dark,” “Viper’s Nest,” and “Know Your Nation.”
