Although the season-six finale of Lifetime’s “Project Runway” was the highest-rated episode of the season, numbers were significantly down from the season-five finale on Bravo.
Thursday’s episode drew 4.2 million viewers, down 11% from the October 2008 season-ender and off 28% in women 18-49.
Reality skein moved over to Lifetime after a prolonged legal battle between NBC Universal and the Weinstein Co.
For the season, “Project Runway” averaged 3.2 million viewers, down from the previous season.
That said, the skein was a boon for the femme-skewing net and was the highest-rated reality program on cable for women over 18 and tops in total households. Lifetime now has a reality tentpole to go along with its lineup of original movies and scripted series (“Drop Dead Diva,” “Army Wives,” “Sherri”).
Season seven, which preems Jan. 14, will return to New York following the just-concluded season’s move to Los Angeles.
