45 million homes now have access

NBA TV has expanded its reach by signing carriage deals with Time Warner Cable, Cablevision and Dish Network.

League-owned net is now in 45 million homes after inking deals with DirecTV, Comcast, Cox Cable and Verizon over the last few months. Timing is fortuitous for the cabler as the NBA’s new season begins Tuesday.

Viewers will have to pay additional monthly costs, however, on Cablevision and Dish. Those providers will offer the net on their expanded digital tiers while Time Warner is putting NBA TV in its basic package.

Launched in 1999, NBA TV offers more than 100 pro games, as well as studio shows and other original programming.
