Beat writer to file on-air and online stories
NFL Network has signed Washington Redskins beat writer Jason La Canfora as a reporter.
La Canfora, who has written for the Washington Post for 10 years, will file on-air stories for both the net as well as writing and blogging on NFL.com. He’ll begin in mid-June and will appear on the net’s signature series “NFL Total Access,” as well as other programs.
Also, NFL Network, which just signed a carriage deal with Comcast on May 19 and airs eight games a season, should have a decision soon on who will join Bob Papa in the broadcast booth as a color commentator.
He or she will replace Cris Collinsworth, who was recently promoted to join Al Michaels in the Peacock booth for NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” after the retirement of John Madden.
