MADRID — Spanish commercial broadcasters are continuing to put their faith in U.S. dramas to drive ratings.
Cuatro has nabbed Joss Whedon’s sci-fi skein “Dollhouse” from 20th Century Fox, as well as the U.S. adaptation of BBC format “Life on Mars,” toplining Harvey Keitel, and biker-gang drama “Sons of Anarchy.”
Cuatro revealed last week that it had bought teen drama “Gossip Girl” from Warner Bros.
Antena 3 TV, meanwhile, has taken Fox police procedural “Lie to Me,” one of the most solid performing U.S. newbies this season.
“Lie to Me” will air in primetime from the second quarter this year.
