LONDON — Male-skewed tween channel Disney XD is to bow in the U.K. in August.
The web, which replaces Jetix in Blighty, will air live-action movies, new and library animated programming and local acquisitions.
Disney XD will be the first ad-supported Disney channel in the U.K and be complemented by a new website, Disney XD.co.uk.
The channel made its debut in France in April and will roll out across other European territories in the coming months, replacing Jetix.
Disney XD will be part of a four-channel U.K. pay TV package headed by the Disney Channel and featuring Playhouse Disney and Disney Cinemagic.
