Robert Jay Brandt dies at 82

Widower of Janet Leigh suffered from Alzheimer's

Robert Jay Brandt, widower of actress Janet Leigh, died in Beverly Hills, Calif. on Sept. 5 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. He was 82.

After marrying Leigh, Brandt helped raise her daughters Kelly Curtis and Jamie Lee Curtis.

Brandt served as a U.S. Marine and founded securities firms Brandt Zwick and Company and later Robert Brandt and Company.

He is survived by his daughters and two grandchildren son in law Christopher Guest. Donations may be made to the Motion Picture and Television Fund or the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation.
