International editor worked at trade for 20 years

Ireland-born reporter and editor Steve Brennan, who had a 20-year career at the Hollywood Reporter, died of cancer Thursday in Los Angeles. He was 57.

A familiar figure at industry tradeshows such as NATPE, Mip, Mipcom and Cannes, Brennan was known for his good humor and dedication to Irish topics.

His book “Emeralds in Tinseltown: The Irish in Hollywood” was published in 2007. He is survived by his wife, Bernadette O’Neill.
