Wedding series bowed as special in May
TLC, continuing its recent slew of pickups, has greenlit “Wedded to Perfection.”
Series order comes after “Perfection” ran as a special in May and did well enough to show potential as a series. Six episodes have been ordered and series will premiere Oct. 2.
Hourlong skein, which will air at 10 p.m. Fridays, follows husband and wife Jung Lee and Josh Brooks. Couple own a premier wedding and event planning business.
“The series is a great fit for TLC because it has a balance of high-end candy for viewers, but also relatability,” said Nancy Daniels, senior VP of production and development.
Aretha Marshall, Benjamin Ringe, Knute Walker and Cristin Cricco-Powell are exec producers. Peacock Prods. is producing.
Cabler has been busy of late. It recently announced the pickup of “King of the Crown” — the behind-the-scenes look at beauty pageants premieres Sept. 30 — and ordered a second season of “The Little Couple.”
Even with its diminished ratings, “Jon and Kate Plus 8” remains the net’s top show, with “Cake Boss” and “Police Women of Broward County” also performing well.
