‘The Shield’ actors to appear on ‘Lie to Me’

Exec producer bringing back thesps for episode

Fox’s “Lie to Me” has lined up a mini cast reunion from “The Shield” this spring.

Casting reps a homecoming of sorts for the stars and Shawn Ryan, the “Shield” creator who now serves as exec producer on “Lie to Me.”

“The Shield” star Michael Chiklis won’t be there, but alums Catherine Dent, Kenny Johnson, David Marciano, Benito Martinez, Cathy Cahlin Ryan and David Rees Snell have all signed on.

In the episode — titled “Pied Piper” — Marciano will play Jason Wilkie, an inmate whom “Lie to Me” lead character Dr. Cal Lightman (Tim Roth) helped convict for murdering a child 17 years earlier.

After Marciano’s character is executed, his victim’s aunt and uncle — played by Dent and Martinez — are targeted again. Looking for answers — and worried that he sent the wrong man to jail — Lightman talks to Wilkie’s younger brother, played by Snell, and his ex-girlfriend, played by Ryan.

Those two lead Lightman to a new suspect — the photographer Malcolm Hessler, played by Johnson.

“Lie to Me” recently received a full-season pickup from Fox, although the net doesn’t yet have an airdate for the show’s midseason return.

“The Shield” ended its run in November 2008. On the critically acclaimed FX drama, Dent played Officer Danny Sofer, Johnson was Det. Curtis Lemansky, Marciano played Det. Steve Billings, Martinez was Capt. David Aceveda, Ryan was Corrine Mackey, and Snell played Det. Ronnie Gardocki.
