Mulligan joins Investment Banking Group

Brian Mulligan, a former top exec with Seagram, Universal Studios and Fox Television, has joined Deutsche Bank Securities as managing director and vice chairman in the Media and Telecommunications Investment Banking Group.

He is based in Los Angeles and reports to Jacques Brand, co-head of Global Industry Coverage, and David Pearson, head of Media and Telecommunications Investment Banking in the Americas.

Most recently, Mulligan was chairman of Brooknol Advisers, an advisory and investment firm specializing in media and entertainment. He has been a senior executive adviser at Cerberus Capital Management, and at the Boston Consulting Group.

Prior to that he served as chairman of Fox Television; chief financial officer at Seagram/Universal Studios; co-chairman of Universal Pictures; executive vice president of operations at Universal Entertainment; and senior veep of corporate development and strategic planning at MCA/Universal.

“The media and telecommunications sectors are an important focus for us and an area where we expect to see continued M&A and capital markets activity,” Pearson said.
