Ripa, Consuelos cater to TLC

Duo to produce nonscripted catering series

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are among the producers of TLC nonscripted series “Masters of Reception,” which will be sneak previewed June 12 before airing five hourlong episodes in the fall.

Skein will focus on a New Jersey family-owned catering business and the wide range of clientele and events they service, with no small emphasis on the unusual.

Nancy Daniels, TLC senior veep of production and development, told Daily Variety that Ripa and husband Consuelos (“Killer Hair”) will be closely involved in the production of the series.

“They were instrumental in the genesis of the idea and discovering the Frungillos and their family business,” Daniels said. “And now they are involved in the creative development of each episode, from finding the best stories to looking at the edits.”

Daniels added that “Masters of Reception” fits TLC well because of how it depicts an “authentic family” topping themselves in the events they put on each week.

Milojo Prods., the shingle of Ripa and Consuelos, has a first-look development deal with TLC and Discovery. It previously produced ESPN feature doc “The Streak,” which was nominated for a 2009 Sports Emmy, and have another series, “Mom, Inc.,” in the works.

Charlie Corwin of Original Media (“Miami Ink”) is also exec producing “Masters of Reception.”
