CNN Prods. will receive the President’s Award at the News & Documentary Emmys.
Presented Sept. 21 by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, the news and doc kudos will take place at the Frederick P. Rose Hall in Lincoln Center.
“At a time when the traditional commercial networks have drastically curtailed their documentary production, CNN has continued to produce longform documentaries on topics of pressing interest,” said Bill Small, chairman of awards for NATAS.
In 2008, CNN presented “Black in America,” hosted by Soledad O’Brien. Part two of the series continues later this month, and also upcoming from the news cabler is “Generation Islam” in August and “Latino in America” in October.
