Laura Michaelchyshyn has ankled her post running the Sundance Channel to become prexy-g.m. of Discovery’s new net Planet Green.
The cable vet, who’d been upped to exec VP-g.m. at Sundance last summer in the wake of the Cablevision buyout, will start her new job March 16. She will oversee all aspects of creative and biz strategy, including programming, operations and content for all Planet Green platforms and businesses.
Planet Green, based at Discovery HQ in Silver Spring, Md., as well as in Gotham, launched June 4 as a 24-hour cable net and now reaches about 50 million homes. Its roster of original series includes “Wasted” “Renovation Nation.”
