MGM buys up ‘Cash Cab’

Two-time Daytime Emmy winner set for broadcast

MGM Domestic Television has acquired broadcast syndication rights to two time Daytime Emmy winning quizzer “Cash Cab” with plans to get it on broadcast television by next fall.

John Bryan, MGM’s executive VP of broadcast strategy, said “Cash Cab” has all the attributes to make it “an ideal choice for broadcasters.”

The Discovery Channel gameshow, produced by Lion Television, is set in a New York City taxicab, where host Ben Bailey quizzes unsuspecting passengers on various subjects for cash prizes as they make their way to their destination.
