NBC publicist to serve as segment producer

Liepis spent more than 10 years in New York as the press director for NBC’s latenight sked, handling “Late Night with Conan O’Brien and “Saturday Night Live.” Liepis was already working on “SNL” when Fallon joined the series; he also handled the show’s press through three elections and the explosive popularity of cast members such as Will Ferrell and Tina Fey. Liepis also traveled with O’Brien during “Late Night’s” trips to Finland, Chicago and Toronto, and he helped handle the “Tonight Show” announcement when O’Brien first landed the gig. Liepis also worked closely with “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” producer Mike Shoemaker during Shoemaker’s time at “SNL.” The first segment produced by Liepis for the show will appear online Wednesday night as part of Fallon’s ongoing series of pre-“Late Night” Webisodes. Prior to NBC, Liepis was a part of the publicity team that launched Rosie O’Donnell’s daytime talker for Warner Bros. He also worked as a small agency publicist for shows such as “Maury,” “Ricki Lake” and Michael Moore’s “TV Nation.”
