Lit agent dives into films

Deneen adds Fineprint to his agency

Former Miramax/Dimension exec Brendan Deneen has added a film production arm to his literary agency, Fineprint Literary Management.

Fineprint Productions holds the options on seven projects, including “Darkfall,” a horror novel by Stephen Laws. Dimension had optioned “Darkfall” as recently as 2003, with Deneen shepherding the project.

Richard Regen is attached to script “The Prometheus Operation,” Mark Elder’s 1980 World War II thriller, and “Tigerland” scribe Ross Klavan will write the screenplay for “No Ordinary Heroes,” Demaree Inglese’s memoir of life as a prison doctor in New Orleans during hurricane Katrina.

The fledgling company’s other projects include “Superstar,” a comics project by longtime “Avengers” comicbook scribe Kurt Busiek, Laird Barron’s short story “The Procession of the Black Sloth,” and Jason Shiga’s graphic novel “Empire Park.”
