Kops reaches Summit

Exec named senior VP of publicity

Summit Entertainment confirmed on Wednesday the hiring of Eric Kops as senior VP of publicity. He takes over from Vivian Mayer-Siskind, who is exiting when her contract expires.

The move reunites Kops with his former boss at Paramount, Summit prexy of worldwide marketing Nancy Kirkpatrick.

Other vets of that Par regime now working with Kirkpatrick are Stu Gottesman, Summit VP of field activities, and Louise Kaufman, who works with the company out of Gotham.

Mayer-Siskind helped launch the “Twilight” franchise for Summit and, more recently, “The Hurt Locker.”

“It’s been a terrific two years working at Summit with talented executives like Patrick Wachsberger, Bob Hayward and Rob Friedman,” said Mayer-Siskind. “I look forward to what opportunities lay ahead.”

Kops was most recently at ID PR. At Summit, he’ll oversee domestic theatrical and home entertainment campaigns and activities beginning Aug. 19.

“I have loved my time at ID, but the opportunity to work with Nancy Kirkpatrick again as well as on Summit’s amazing slate of upcoming films was an opportunity I could not pass up,” said Kops.

“Eric is one of the best film publicity strategists and leaders in the business, and Summit is going to benefit greatly from his combination of both studio and independent film campaign experience,” said Kirkpatrick.
