Jessel announces Ambassador

Firm to offer assistance to filmmakers, producers

The formation of a consulting firm specializing in distribution and finance was announced by Ian Jessel, one-time president of Miramax Intl. and CEO of Nelson Entertainment.

Called Ambassador Media Partners, the firm will guide filmmakers and producers through the steps of production and distribution and also consult on finished films that are looking for distribution.

Joining Jessel at Ambassador are David Forbes, who has had senior posts at MGM and Columbia; Peter Rawley, longtime agent and producer; and Laurie Kirby, who headed acquisitions for WomensFilmNet.

The firm will have its headquarters in Beverly Hills. “The film industry is still a viable business, and Ambassador has the skill set and relationships to help filmmakers connect successfully to the business,” Jessel said.
