Fox Reality Channel programming topper Bob Boden is ankling the cabler to join Hasbro’s newly launched TV studio.
Boden is among the first hires made by Hasbro Studios president Stephen J. Davis, who joined the company last month.
Boden will serve as head of reality and gameshow development for Hasbro Studios. He’s already familiar with startups, having joined Fox Reality before its 2005 launch.
Before that, Boden was senior VP of programming at the Game Show Network. A spokesman for Fox Reality Channel said no decision has been made on how Boden may be replaced.
Meanwhile, Davis’ other hires include Sony Pictures TV animated programming director Michael J. Vogel, who will head up boys animation for the studio. And RDF USA scripted development director Brian Charles Lenard has been named head of story development.
Also, WME strategic planning head Mary Beth Bambridge has joined Hasbro Studios as head of finance, while Hasbro Entertainment’s business and legal affairs topper Kevin Healy will handle those same duties for the studio.
Hasbro Studios is already starting to create and produce projects based on Hasbro brands such as Trivial Pursuit and My Little Pony; it also plans to create other content with outside producers.
Much of that fare is being targeted for the new kids channel joint venture of Hasbro and Discovery Communications. Channel, which replaces the current Discovery Kids outlet, is set to launch in fall 2010.
