Gene Stein tops BermanBraun

TV Exec to oversee development, production

Barely six months after joining the company, Gene Stein has been upped to head of TV at BermanBraun.

Stein will oversee development and production of the shingle’s growing slate of scripted and unscripted projects. BermanBraun has three comedy pilots in contention at CBS and a drama pilot at NBC.

The NBC Universal-based banner also recently booked a 20-episode order from MTV for the docu-soap “Is She Really Going Out With Him?”

Stein joined BermanBraun in September as head of unscripted programming. He spent most of the past decade as an ABC Studios-based producer, and before that he headed comedy programming at CBS, where he developed “Everybody Hates Raymond” and “The King of Queens,” among others.
