FX sets fall schedule

Network sets premiere dates for 'Sons,' 'Sunny'

FX has chosen premiere dates for veteran series including “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and “Sons of Anarchy” that will see the web once again take on the broadcast nets aggressively this fall.

Cabler plans to move “Sons of Anarchy” to Tuesday nights, where it will air at 10 p.m. starting Sept. 8. Second season of the show, which stars Charlie Hunnam, Katey Sagal and Ron Perlman, will include guest stars Adam Arkin and Henry Rollins. FX has 13 episodes on tap.

The fifth season of edgy laffer “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” returns to Thursdays at 10 p.m. starting Sept. 17 — the same night NBC rolls out its 8-10 p.m. comedy lineup. “Sunny’s” fifth season will consist of 12 episodes, part of the whopping 39-episode order FX made last year for the comedy.

FX plans to also pair a new original comedy — to be announced at a later date — with “Sunny.”

The sixth and penultimate season of “Nip/Tuck,” is back in October with 10 new episodes.

Cabler also has the network premieres of theatricals “Ghost Rider,” “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer,” “Spider-Man 3” and “Live Free or Die Hard” on tap for fall.
