CBS took time Thursday to greenlight the comedy pilot “Tick Tock.”
Fox, meanwhile, is close to greenlighting a new drama pilot from scribe Ian Biederman and another from McG.
At the Eye, “Tick Tock” revolves around a thirtysomething single mother who decides to focus her attention on finding true love.
Bill Kunstler created the project, which comes from CBS Paramount Network TV.
Pickup comes as the nets get ready to make the lion’s share of their pilot choices in the next few weeks. CBS Entertainment prexy Nina Tassler has said she expects to pick up about the same number of comedy and drama pilots as in recent years — five apiece.
Kunstler’s credits include “The War at Home,” “Quintuplets,” “Inside Schwartz” and “True Jackson, VP.”
As for the Biederman drama, project revolves around a female cardiac surgeon who struggles with schizophrenia. Biederman, Brian Grazer and David Nevins exec produce; 20th Century Fox TV and Imagine TV.
The McG project, from Warner Bros. TV, is called “Human Target,” and was written by Jon Steinberg.
