Programming exec to lead at Discovery/Hasbro
Kids TV vet Donna Ebbs has been tapped as senior VP of programming for the upcoming Discovery Communications/Hasbro children’s network.
Ebbs will report to the joint venture’s president/CEO, Margaret Loesch, who announced the appointment on Tuesday. Loesch called Ebbs the “perfect choice to head up the programming efforts for this new network.”
As VP of original programming at ABC Family, Ebbs oversaw movies and specials, and also oversaw series such as “Lincoln Heights” and “Samurai Girl.” Before that, she helped develop “High School Musical” at Disney Channel and oversaw the “Wonderful World of Disney” franchise at ABC.
At the untitled Discovery/Hasbro channel, scheduled to launch in 2010, she’ll oversee the network’s programming strategy, which includes scheduling, oversight and cost management. She’ll also work with Loesch in handling development.
