The production company that once shackled potential love interests together with chains is now plopping them on a conveyor belt.
ABC’s “Conveyor Belt of Love” isn’t a punchline but a real special from Endemol USA, which earlier this decade came up with the infamous reality skein “Chains of Love.”
“Conveyor Belt” will see 30 men rotate on a conveyor belt in front of five women. The guys have about a minute to make an impression — and if interested, the women can pluck them from the stage. If another, more interesting guy then glides by, a femme can swap out her first pick for the new one. After the women make their picks, they go out on a date — and figure out if they made the right selection.
The one-hour special is set to air on Monday, Jan. 4 at 10 p.m., behind the premiere of “The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love.”
Tom Shelly is exec producing the special, which will take a tongue-in-cheek approach to the proceedings.
Should the “Conveyor Belt” spec succeed, expect it to morph into a regular series.
