Spike strikes up the ‘Band’

Network acquires miniseries 'Brothers'

Guy-targeted cable network Spike has acquired the rerun rights to HBO mini “Band of Brothers.”

The 10-part WWII-themed series will debut on Spike sometime in the third quarter.

Based on real accounts and following the war from boot camp to the very end of combat through the eyes of parachute infantry regiment “Easy” Company, “Band of Brothers” garnered critical raves when it premiered on HBO in 2001.

Mini was produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks and has an ensemble cast that features Damian Lewis, Donnie Wahlberg and Ron Livingston.
