Sony Pictures TV raises Glass

Executive named VP of development

Sony Pictures TV has tapped Karen Glass VP of development.

As part of her promotion, Glass will handle development and production in New York for Sony alternative series. That encompasses network and cable, as well as firstrun syndication — for which she’s working on the upcoming launch of Oprah Winfrey-produced strip “Dr. Oz.”

Glass is also the point person for productions such as GSN’s “The Newlywed Game” and TV Land’s “Make My Day.”

Glass reports to Sony Pictures TV’s Holly Jacobs, exec VP of reality and syndie programming.

“She adds an important strategic presence in New York as our alternative business continues to grow,” Jacobs said.

Before Sony, Glass was VP of creative affairs at Fox Television Studios; she also served as a publishing consultant for HarperCollins. In addition she spent time at Buena Vista Prods., working on series such as “The Wayne Brady Show.”
