Mark Lukasiewicz to oversee news specials

NBC News vet Mark Lukasiewicz has been given oversight of news specials produced for the Peacock’s broadcast and cable outlets.

Lukasiewicz had been serving as veep of NBC News digital media, and he’ll now add specials to his title. Exec is responsible for coordinating coverage of major events across the Peacock’s various TV and digital properties. He reports to MSNBC prexy Phil Griffin.

Lukasiewicz is credited with expanding and integrating the news division’s original content on NBC Universal platforms since he was named veep of digital media in 2006. Before that, he spent three years as exec producer of NBC News specials.

Outside the news arena, Lukasiewicz has produced a number of live events for the Peacock, including its 2008 “NBC Experience” showcase at Rockefeller Center and the NBC U presentations at the Consumer Electronics Show for the past few years.
