Miley moseys over to CAA

Cyrus signs with agency for TV, film

Miley Cyrus has moved her TV and movie career over to CAA, which already repped her for music.

Cyrus had been repped by UTA, which brokered her recent renewal deal for “Hannah Montana” and guided her entrance into feature films with deals for “Hannah Montana: The Movie” and “The Last Song.”

Latter was an agency package that brought UTA novelist client Nicholas Sparks to write a novel and script a movie specifically for Cyrus, which Julie Anne Robinson will direct, with Adam Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot producing for Walt Disney Pictures.

Cyrus will embark on a 45-city North American tour in September, and she and Max Azria have created an apparel line that will launch in Wal-Mart this summer.

The signing — first reported on blog Deadline Hollywood Daily — was one of two big CAA scores Wednesday, as the agency also signed James Cameron in all areas (Daily Variety, June 4).

Cyrus will be repped by a team headed by Kevin Huvane.
