As the vidgame biz becomes more prominent in Hollywood, Bender/Helper Impact has bolstered the PR agency’s interactive practice, tapping Michael Hope as its top gamer.
Hope has repped companies in the game biz for the past decade, having most recently headed up Beck Media and Marketing’s corporate technology division, and managed global PR for the videogame sports league, Championship Gaming Series.
Before that, he also provided media relations for Microsoft’s Xbox, during the launch of the console and bow of “Halo 2,” while at Edelman, and managed corporate, consumer and lifestyle PR at mPRm for Amp’d Mobile, DMI Music and Dolby Laboratories.
As executive director of Bender/Helper’s interactive entertainment division, Hope will manage PR strategies for the firm’s roster of game publishers, developers and services, which includes Paramount Digital Entertainment, Sony Online Entertainment, Konami, 505 Games, Abandon Interactive, Freeverse and GameFly.
Appointment comes as Bender/Helper is readying to take its clients to Comic-Con in San Diego.
“As a passionate and longtime gamer, I hope to apply my love of videogames and publicity experience to good use across our strong roster of clients,” Hope said.
