Network developing two hourlong projects
CBS is developing two more crime-themed hourlong projects: one from writer Peter Tolan (“Rescue Me”) and another from scribe Ed Redlich (“Without a Trace”).
Both projects are scripts with penalties attached, and both come from Sony Pictures TV.
Eye’s untitled Tolan project revolves around an eccentric college professor who solves crimes.
Tolan is writing the project and will exec produce; Michael Wimer is on board as a non-writing exec producer. Drama is the first project to come out of Tolan and Wimer’s new Sony-based production shingle, which they set up at the studio under a three-year deal.
Tolan’s other credits include “The Job” and the feature “Finding Amanda.”
As for Redlich, “The Rememberer” centers on a female NYPD detective who harbors the ability to remember everything she encounters.
Redlich is penning the script and will exec produce, along with Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly. His other credits include “Shark” and “Felicity.”
