The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced an eclectic field of 12 nominees for 2010 induction.
Names new to the ballot include costumed hard rockers Kiss, rapper LL Cool J, reggae singer Jimmy Cliff, L.A. funk-rock act the Red Hot Chili Peppers, singer-songwriter Laura Nyro, and English prog-pop hitmakers Genesis.
Repeating as nominees are disco diva Donna Summer, Detroit punk progenitors the Stooges, girl group the Chantels, Nordic pop act ABBA, and Wall of Sound vocalist Darlene Love.
Five acts will be announced as inductees in December. The 25th induction ceremony will take place March 15 in New York.
