Composer/musician to score BMI event

Composer/musician Rolfe Kent will score live images with guest musicians during his “Magnificent Howling Audience Score-Shop,” part of BMI’s events at the Sundance Film Festival.

The “Score-Shop” will include an experimental exercise with the audience in live-image scoring, a first for the festival.

The performing rights org will present two other events at the fest on Jan. 21, the 11th annual composer/director roundtable and the sixth annual Sundance Snowball at the Kimball Art Center.

Speaker at the roundtable include George S. Clinton, Duncan Sheik, Lili Haydn, Peter Golub and Kent. Among the directors are Michel Orion Scott, R.J. Cutler and Tze Chun.

Kent’s performance will follow the Sundance Snowball.
