Grammy Week event honors music, TV

Function to celebrate music's contribution to TV

Music’s contribution to TV will be explored through historic footage and live performances at the Grammy Foundation’s annual Music Preservation Project event “Cue the Music: A Celebration of Music and Television,” to be held Jan. 28.

Grammy Week function at the Wilshire Ebell Theater partners the Recording Academy’s educational arm with the Paley Center for Media, which will supply clips for the evening.

Night will incorporate footage from TV variety shows, look back at familiar TV themes and explore the medium’s role in breaking new artists.

Performers will include Grammy-winning R&B singer Solomon Burke; 2010 Grammy nominees Colbie Caillat, Melanie Fiona and Jason Mraz; pop-rock act the Fray; and Latin Grammy winner Jorge Moreno.
