Reed Midem CEO named Officer of the Arts
PARIS — The French government has tapped Reed Midem CEO Paul Zilk as an Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters.
The honor was awarded Sunday by the minister of culture and communications, Christine Albanel, during the annual Midem music confab in Cannes, which Reed Midem organizes, along with a spread of high-profile TV trade fairs at Cannes: Mip TV, Mipdoc, Mip Junior and Mipcom.
An American citizen and Harvard Business School graduate, Zilk was promoted to Reed Midem CEO in 2003.
The honor has been granted in recognition of Zilk’s role at Midem. Albanel called Zilk “a respected marketing executive who is, above all, truly passionate about music.”
“(Zilk was) one of the principal architects of the success of Midem,” Albanel added.
Reed Midem is owned by Variety parent, the Reed Elsevier publishing group.
