Robin Williams has set new Gotham dates for his “Weapons of Self Destruction” tour, playing seven shows at Town Hall Nov. 23-Dec.3. His initial plan for a Broadway run of the show was scuttled last season due to medical issues.
The comic’s return to the New York stage after a seven-year absence, show originally was announced for a short engagement at the Rialto’s Neil Simon Theater, planned for April 28-May 3. When tickets reportedly sold out in less than 10 minutes, three extra shows were added. However, the Gotham stop was postponed in March after news that Williams was to undergo heart surgery.
The 80-city “Weapons” tour kicked off in February and will be filmed in Washington D.C. in November to air as an HBO comedy special, premiering in December.
