Westport Country docks 2010 slate

Playhouse to produce 'She Loves Me,' 'I Do!'

Westport Country Playhouse will produce two tuners for its 2010 season: “She Loves Me” and the two-hander “I Do! I Do!”

The shows mark the first season under new a.d. Mark Lamos, who will stage “She Loves Me” as well as Samuel Beckett’s “Happy Days.” No helmer has been announced for “I Do! I Do!” nor the other two shows, “The Diary of Anne Frank” and a yet-to-be-announced “new contemporary comedy hit.”

The 80th season slate will have one fewer show but the runs will be four weeks, a week longer than this year.

Season opens April 27 with “She Loves Me.” “I Do! I Do!” will begin perfs Aug. 10.

Managing director Michael Ross said there are no co-productions at this time.

Lamos is expected to announce shortly a fall show for the current season. Lamos took over as a.d. in February.
