Trio to be feted by Actors’ foundation

Pittu, Forbes, Thompson awarded for recent work

David Pittu, Kate Forbes and John Douglas Thompson will be presented with awards from the Actors’ Equity Foundation for their work in recent New York productions.

Pittu’s turn in the Shakespeare in the Park summer staging of “Twelfth Night” earned him the St. Clair Bayfield Award for performance by an actor in a Shakespearean play.

Forbes and Thompson both will receive the 2009 Joe A. Calloway Award dedicated to classic theater roles. Forbes’ work in Theater For a New Audience’s “Othello” was honored, with Thompson winning for the title role in that same production, as well as Irish Rep hit, “The Emperor Jones.”
