Cast set for benefit concert

Meryl Streep, Kevin Kline, Austin Pendleton, Frederick Weller and Jenifer Lewis will topline a benefit concert performance of the Jeanine Tesori songs from Tony Kushner’s translation of “Mother Courage and Her Children.”

Thesps all appeared in the Public Theater staging of the Kushner version of “Courage” in 2006. Concert, which will also include cast members of Broadway tuner “Hair,” will benefit two orgs, American Jewish World Service and Partners in Health.

“Courage in Concert” is set to play the Public Oct. 19.

The Public also has announced casting for a couple of its upcoming fall offerings, with Elina Lowensohn (“Simple Men,” “Schindler’s List”) among the thesps joining Willem Dafoe in Richard Foreman’s “Idiot Savant” and Brian Tyree Henry, Kianne Muschett, Andre Holland and Marc Damon Johnson onboard to appear in Tarell Alvin McCraney’s “The Brother/Sister Plays.”
