Steppenwolf cast to redo roles on B’way

'Superior' opens Oct. 1 at the Music Box Theater

The entire Steppenwolf Theater cast of Tracy Letts’ play “Superior Donuts” will reprise their roles in the Broadway staging of the show, joining previously announced topliner Michael McKean, who also starred in the 2008 preem at Chicago’s Steppenwolf.

McKean and Jon Michael Hill play the owner of a dilapidated doughnut shop and his teenage employee, respectively, in Letts’ follow-up to his Pulitzer winner “August: Osage County.”

Cast also includes Kate Buddeke, Jane Alderman and Yasen Peyankov, among others. Tina Landau, who directed the Chi staging, reprises her duties as helmer.

“Donuts” begins Broadway previews Sept. 16 and opens Oct. 1 at the Music Box Theater.
