New York-based Signature Bank said Tuesday it has hired theater and entertainment banker Barbara von Borstel as group director and senior VP.
Von Borstel was most recently at TD Bank (formerly Commerce Bank) in Gotham. Prior to that she spent 17 years at J.P. Morgan & Co., where she created and managed an entertainment private banking business with a focus on the theater community in New York, London and Los Angeles.
It served theater owners, producers, business managers, productions and actors. Von Borstel also worked with musicians, professional athletes and high-net-worth individuals.
She has served as banker to Broadway productions including “Cats,” “Les Miserables,” “Phantom of the Opera,” “Rent,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Sunset Blvd.,” “Mamma Mia!” and “Jersey Boys.”
“Barbara brings a whole new dimension to our efforts in serving this area based on her decades of experience in catering to the Broadway community,” Signature CEO Joseph DePaolo said in a statement.
